A Final Summer Vacation

Before we know it summer will have come and gone and color tours, corn mazes, and other fall activities will be on everyone’s minds. Start planning one last summer vacation to experience the nice weather before it's gone until next year. Jackson, Michigan is the ideal host for an end of summer trip. With plenty of outdoor fun, a unique firework display, and museums you won’t find anywhere else, there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Unforgettable Park Experience + Fireworks

The perfect way to round out the summer is at Sparks Foundation County Park. This large park offers fun for the whole family. Bring your swimming suit for splashing in the water at the splash pad. This zero-depth facility is great for family members of any age. Everyone will enjoy the giant dump bucket and water fountains coming from the floor.

Pack your clubs for 18 holes of scenic beauty at Cascades Golf Course. This picturesque course is known for more than its views, offering enough challenge for an advanced player and a lot of fun for a beginner too. Don’t forget your fishing pole! The urban fishery is stocked with bluegill and largemouth bass, so the whole family can reel in a fish of their own.

A trip to Sparks Foundation County Park would be incomplete without seeing the park’s main attraction, The Cascades. This massive illuminated man-made waterfall has been visited by people from around the world. Experience its stunning beauty and spectacular charm up close as you run up and down all 252 steps that line both sides of the falls. When dusk comes, get out your lawn chairs and picnic blanket to enjoy a Labor Day firework display right from the foot of The Cascades. BCycle is conveniently located at the Weatherwax trail head and allows you to rent bikes.

If you’re more of a fisherman, then 125 lakes will be calling your name while you are here. Don’t worry if golf is more your sport because we have more than 20 courses for you to try out.
