Ella Sharp Museum Receives Grant from MCACA

3225 Fourth Street, Jackson, MI– October 7, 2015 – The Ella Sharp Museum has been awarded $15,000 from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs.  The grant was awarded from the MCACA peer review process and was one of the 559 applications to compete for MCACA fiscal year 2016 funding.

The Ella Sharp Museum acts as a cultural center with the help of sponsors and volunteers from the community. The grant will be used for operating support, helping to ensure the Ella Sharp Museum can provide opportunities for the community to engage, explore, and enjoy the arts and history.

The MCACA peer review process allows for each grant application to be competitively considered by a panel of in-state and out-of-state arts and culture professionals. This ensures the taxpayers, who support this project through legislative appropriations, and all other visitors or residents in Michigan will have access to the highest quality arts and cultural experiences.
