Ella Sharp Museum is named for Ella (Merriman) Sharp, a generous, civic minded woman who left this gorgeous hillside farmhouse to the city of Jackson for use as a park and a museum.

The Ella Sharp Museum provides opportunities for everyone to explore, engage in, and enjoy history and the arts. The artifacts and artwork you can find at Ella help preserve Jackson’s history. The Ella Sharp Museum features an 1860’s log cabin, the Dibble one-room schoolhouse, country store, print, doctor’s office, wood shop and the Merriman Sharp Farmhouse. The Ella Sharp Museum also manages the Hurst Planetarium, which offers shows and a unique venue for private events. The Grand Community Room at the Ella Sharp Museum is the perfect place for your next grand event. The 3,000-square-foot room features an outdoor patio, catering kitchen, and stage to accommodate a wide variety of events.
