Experience Jackson Partnership Policy and Guidelines
Experience Jackson seeks to invest in the development and expansion of events and assets that identify with our mission for both the community and visitors with the goal of increasing tourism and economic growth. Events, arts, and unique tourism initiatives have proven to generate out-of-area interest that can be converted to day or overnight visitation to Jackson County. Each of these can serve as an economic magnet that provides direct, positive economic impact and an opportunity for local businesses to showcase their products and services. Tourism jobs (direct and indirect) equate to 6% of all Jackson County jobs and $203 million in economic impact, including $24 million in tax revenue to government, education and infrastructure.
Annually, the Experience Jackson Board of Directors will allocate in its budget monies that will be made available through an application process to be used for marketing and economic support of events and assets. It is intended that Experience Jackson will not be the primary funding source for events and applicants are encouraged to seek support from other sources.
Partnerships will be evaluated using the following criteria:
Marketing: The event contributes to strengthen Jackson County as a destination for experiences, arts and cultural, outdoors, and history.
Economic Impact: The event offers a positive return to the community and Experience Jackson.
