Ten new outdoor sculptures are on display on the grounds of the Ella Sharp Museum, thanks to the Dawn Foods Foundation, sponsors of this community art.
The exhibit sculptures are on loan from the Midwest Sculpture Initiative, which was formed in 2004 by Michigan sculptor Ken Thompson. The mission of the MSI is to provide outdoor sculpture exhibitions throughout the Midwest to promote cooperation among art and civic organizations, advance the role that the visual arts play in the quality of life, and increase economic development.
The Ella Sharp Museum began its collaboration with the MSI in 2007. This year’s sculptures range from the colorful Lollypop Tree by Dave Vande Vusse to the contemplative Meditiation by Mark Chatterley, both Michigan sculptors.
