The 57th Annual Jackson County Rose Parade and the Picnic in the Park will take place on Sunday, June 7th.   The parade starts at 1:00 PM and PITP starts immediately following the parade at Ella Sharp Park.

The theme this year is “Sizzlin’ Summer”.  We encourage everyone to enter a float in this year's Parade; we anticipate over 100 entries.  The parade will begin downtown at the corner of South Jackson Street and Greenwood Avenue and end at the Middle School of Parkside. In addition to our many bands, floats, horses and cars, the parade will also feature the 2014 Jackson County Teen, Ashley Sierminski, and the 2014 RoseQueen, Courtney Clark , as well as the 2015 Rose Queen Candidates. The Jackson County Rose Parade and Picnic in the Park events are a time to celebrate our city, community, and our residents with a tradition that has taken place in Jackson for the past 57 years.

The Rose Festival is asking for the communities help in submitting nominations for the 2015 Grand Marshall. Nominees must live in Jackson County and be available to ride in the parade. Additional criteria and the nomination form is available online (www.jacksonrosefestival.org), or questions can be emailed to: rosefestcommunications@gmail.com.

This year we are anticipating the choice for Grand Marshal to be a very difficult one. We have so many men and women in this community who have made a difference. Giving our citizens a voice in this decision is important. The Rose Parade is a Jackson tradition; it belongs to Jackson and it’s fitting the people help choose the Grand Marshal.

The Rose Festival would like to thank 2015 parade sponsors—we could not continue this tradition without the generosity of the community.
