The Chateau Aeronautique Winery was founded with the intent to create fine wines from Michigan grapes, as well as provide guests with a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere in which to taste such fine wines. The Chateau Aeronautique Winery theme is the airpark lifestyle: grass roots aviation, flying, vintage airplanes, and living in a home with hangar on a grass runway surrounded by forests. Chateau wineries in France, specifically in Bordeaux and Burgundy, are the models for this winery in Jackson.

Nearly all the wines offered at the Chateau Aeronautique Winery have received a medal through the Michigan Wine Competition, such as the 2013 Aviatrix Passion which received a Gold Medal. Chateau Aeronautique Winery is part of the Southeastern Michigan Pioneer Wine Trail.
