Holidays at the Mann House

December 3, 2021 | All Day
Weekly

For the first time in 25 years, the Mann House in Concord is decorated for the holiday season! You

can visit the home’s first floor during Concord’s Home for the Holidays event, December 3 – 12, 2021.

Museum staff and volunteers began decorating in October. They had a little help from the Concord Fire Department, who carried in and set up the home's nine foot tall Christmas tree. The Mann House opens for special hours during the week, in conjunction with events all over the village!

Friday, December 3, 6 - 8 p.m.

Join the family of the late Marie and Glenn Miller as they host the evening in Marie’s honor.  As the first curator of the Mann House from 1970 to 1990, Marie started the museum’s popular Christmas events.

Saturday, December 4, 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m.

Before you visit, catch the movie "Polar Express" at the Concord Branch of the Jackson District Library. The film showing is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wear your PJs, make a craft and have some hot chocolate!

Sunday, December 5, 4 - 6 p.m.

Before you visit, join the Paddock Hubbard Memorial Museum for an ecumenical service of readings and songs. They take place from 2 to 5 p.m. at the historic Universalist Church of Concord, right across the street from the Mann House.

Friday, December 10, 6 - 8 p.m.

Join students from the Concord Community Schools' music program as they host visitors to the Mann House.

Saturday, December 11, 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m.

From 2 to 4 p.m., members of the Michigan History Museum Docent Guild and Associates, pictured to the right, will be costumed for life in the late nineteenth century. Docent Doug Sharp will play seasonal music on the home's 135-year-old piano!

Sunday, December 12, 2 - 6 p.m.

The Mann House is open for visitors for the last time in 2021. Stop by and see the holiday decorations and learn about the Mann family.
