Voices and Votes - Democracy In America

May 15-Jun 26, 2021 | 1:00 PM-3:00 PM

Our democracy demands action, reaction, vision and revision as we continue to question how to form a more perfect union. How do you participate as a citizen? From the revolution and sufferage to civil rights and casting ballots, everyone in every community is part of this ever-evolving story - the story of our American democracy. The exhibit explores historic events and poses through provoking questions for today's citizens. The exhibit's local component includes a story kiosk, that features individuals from our country who have unique backgrounds and experience with voting that are important and should be shared.

Presented by Smithsonian in partnership with Michigan Humanities Council, Village of Grass Lake, Michigan's Military Hertiage Musuem and the Lost Railway Museum.
