Experience Jackson Logo

It’s warming up out there, and like you, we bet your furry friend is itching to get out of the house to have some fun. No matter where in town you live, there’s a spot for you and your pet to spend the afternoon.

New in 2021, Betty’s Dog Park is located a short walk from downtown. It’s the perfect spot for those living in downtown apartments to take their dog. Being couped up in a small space means that any dog living that lifestyle needs to get out, stretch its legs, and exert some energy. Plus, every dog should have the opportunity to socialize with other furry friends. Cascades Humane Society is home to the Paw Playground, Jackson’s only off-leash dog park. It’s free and a great spot for dogs to get to know each other and have some fun in a relaxed environment.

Go for a W-A-L-K

Did someone say “Walk?” If you did, Cascades Park, Falling Waters Trail, Ella Sharp Park, and the MacCready Reserve are the perfect place for your pup to sniff and explore. Enjoy some fresh air, get some exercise, and enjoy the sights and scenes of our beautiful nature trails. It’ll be enough to make both your and your dogs’ days. If you decide on Cascades, just be sure to get a pup cup with your ice cream order.

Humans need treats too, so it’s important to note which restaurants have a pet-friendly patio. In the summer, there’s no better place to grab an after-work drink than the Dirty Bird. Their garage patio is one that allows for plenty of fresh air and room for your dog to roam. The Crazy Cowboy has a great enclosed space for your dog to enjoy while you enjoy some tacos. The Oak Tree Lounge has a perfect patio to spend a nice day on, whether you’re with the dog or the whole family. Jackson Coffee Company also allows dogs, because sometimes Scruffy needs his midday pick-me-up too.
