Grand River Brewery

“Beer so good, it’s criminal” is printed across the top of Grand River Brewery’s Monkey Mouth IPA as a tribute to Jackson’s prison history, but it isn’t the only bit of Jackson’s history that Grand River has embraced.

Grand River Brewery is a remodeled 85-year-old building with all updated fixtures, including a column vodka still and a 15-barrel steam powered brew house. This modern manifestation of a traditional Public House can be found in the heart of Downtown Jackson, Michigan. Public Houses have been the focal points of communities throughout history, and Grand River has worked to create the same atmosphere. Styled after the steampunk genre, this brewery is a unique location for hosting an event or to meet up with some friends for a beer. Contact the Brewery for more information on how to rent this facility.

Grand River Brewery’s Monkey Mouth IPA was awarded the gold medal for "Best American IPA" at the New York International Beer Competition in 2015. Grand River Brewery is also home to the Sleeping Bear Winery, a winery along the Southeastern Michigan Pioneer Wine Trail.
