The entire county has many beautiful backroads with tree-lined coverage. Plus, there are plenty of biker-friendly stops and attractions that make for the perfect pitstop.

Sights and Scenery

Waterloo Recreation Area is a place where friends and families alike enjoy spending their days paddleboarding, mountain biking, or disc golfing. Did you know that they are also biker-friendly? This 20,000-acre stretch makes for a beautiful, scenic landscape to ride along. If you’re looking to ride your way beneath the shade of colorful trees in the fall, or just escape the sun and enjoy a shady ride, the Brooklyn-Irish Hills area includes vast countryside and over 50 lakes. Hop off your motorcycle and trade it for a bicycle on Falling Waters Trail or a kayak on Vandercook Lake.

Bike to a Bite

After riding all day, you’re bound to have quite the appetite. There are a number of excellent restaurants and bars to get your food and drink fix. Robin’s Roost is a biker-friendly bar and restaurant located on one of Jackson’s major streets. Stop into this neighborhood hotspot for unbeatable food specials and a drink to quench your thirst after a long day on your bike. Grand River Brewery is an iconic downtown staple to enjoy a meal or beer outside on the patio on a warm evening. Their industrial, steampunk vibe is one that will appeal to any motorcyclist.

Missy’s Grass Shack is also a spot that many motorcyclists frequent. Their hometown pride and the energy they bring to downtown Grass Lake is one that is loved by local bikers. Aggie’s Sports Bar in Napoleon is known for their bike nights, complete with a beautiful new pavilion, right along M-50 between Jackson and Brooklyn. Other Jackson County staples include The Parlour and The Hunt Club.

While in town, a fun stop for anyone and everyone is the Cascades Falls located at Cascades Park. Open through Labor Day, this iconic Jackson attraction is a great spot to sit and enjoy the color-changing water feature that is the center of one of Jackson’s most popular parks.

Jackson County also offers a variety of group tours, so if you’re riding with a group, be sure to consider a stop at Michigan’s first state prison or the underground railroad tour. If you’re riding alone but still want to take in some history, there are a number of museums for you to stretch your legs and take in some local charm.
